Day 1 - Panther Couch

Panther Couch

I began with module 2 tutorial. Firstly, I was taught on how to create a panther couch from scratch.
I created a box and resize it.

Then I changed my selection to primitives and selected 2, 5 face and deleted it. This would roughly create out the shape of the couch.

After that, I selected the inner part of the couch and used polyextrude.

I changed the Keep points shared to "Use Normals"

Selecting the inner faces and grouped them together. I've also named them as couchInterior.

I added a divide node and ticked "Bricker Polygons", changed the sizes to 4 each.

I used polyextrude again to do the sharp edges which is inside the couch.

Using translate to pull the points out.

This is the end product of the couch upper part.
I went on and do the frame part, for the frame part, I created the box and adjusted the sizes accordingly. Then I deleted the bottom two faces.

I added another polyextrude and then using the "q" key, I duplicated the polyextrude and deleted it.

After that, I used polybevel.

So I merged both of the frame and upper couch together.

I went on to do the legs for the couch. The legs were created using box and I resize it and shifted it to a corner.

I duplicated the leg after I've done. Simply just using ctrl + c and ctrl + v. I've also merged it.

After that, I used Modify>Mirror to duplicate the other side of the couch leg. This tool is very useful and it's the first time that I used and discovered through tutorials too.
This makes work much more easier as we do not need to manually do the leg one by one.

So I merged the legs with the couch and frame.

We'll shift the whole couch to the ground level so that when we exporting out to other softwares, we do not need to worry about the sizes problem.

It's also a good practice that we should organise our files and the names clearly so that if our works are passed to the next person, they could easily understand what does each nodes stands for.
So I've arranged the nodes nicely.

This is the final look for the panther couch that I did.
