Day 3 - Module 5

Module 5

I've started module 5 yesterday and I managed to complete it today. For module 5, I learned about codings and using a null to control an object that I created. Although coding is difficult to understand and most of the time I don't know why we have to use this expression and how to find the correct expressions to use, I still find it interesting to explore about it. However, I find that to do coding, we have to be very accurate when typing out the codes. If there's one small part that we made an error, the entire expressions would not work well. Firstly, I get to explore on how to duplicate the Lsystem trees in different pattern using coding to make things easier.

Lsystem trees
For this part of the tutorial, I learned about the two main thing when rendering that is:

Frames:
$RFSTART & $RFEND
(Strictly to the range only)

$FSTART & $FEND
(Will render not strictly to range)

I've also learn how to look up for the meaning of that particular expressions when I need help.

Basically, this is also the expression on how we can name trees and after that if we duplicate it, the shape of the tree will be different each time round.

This is the end product of the tree test.

Timecode
I find this part of the tutorial quite interesting as we get to create timecode and make it run according to the frame rate that we want! & this part of the tutorial is mainly about just using coding to create everything.

In order make a controller to control the frame range manually, we can create it at the parameter interface.

This is the end of the tutorial part for the timecode.

Stretchy Trees
For this part of the tutorial, I learned about how to use a null to control the trees. So firstly, I'll have to create a tube.

Following carefully to the tutorial and I created the random location the branches will be scattering.

Testing out the null...

Adding some simple expression on the copy1 node.

Lastly, I completed it and it works! For this part of the expression, the teacher in the tutorial didn't show the final expression clearly so I went to look at the reference file and copied the expression to here.
