Day 11 - CHOPs

CHOPs

I tried out one of the project which is to create out an animated hammer with audio. I find it very interesting as this is my first time doing out something with audio in Houdini. I didn't know that we could work on audio waveform using Houdini initially. So firstly, I'm created a hammer out then after that, I created a chop network and insert a file. At the file > channel file, I inserted audio inside. Directory is: $HFS/houdini/config/Audio/ to search for the audio that we want to put inside.

I put a resample and changed the sample rate to 1000 then added nodes such as rename, math, filter to create the audio waveform to the correct way it should be. For the filter, I adjusted the filter width to 0.20.
I duplicated the hammer four times and I want to make them sync together and move when the audio is being played.

Instead of using the export node, I used the merge to bring back the animation that sync with the audio.

After that, I moved on to the other two tutorials which is the animated speaker and pin table. However for these two tutorial, I didn't do from scratch but I just explored the completed file and see each of their functions while going through Mr Ari's tutorial video with him.
